…or because you don’t know how to use it for business- all of that ends today.

1. Make an educational TikTok using original audio. 

The first one on our list of TikTok ideas for business is probably one of the easiest TikToks to make when you’re starting out.

Let’s break down what it is and how to do it. 

First, let’s talk about what we mean by using original audio. 

When you’re on TikTok, you’ll find a lot of people are using a song from TikTok’s music library on their videos…

…or a trending audio someone else has created and uploaded. 

But using original audio means the audio on the video is the original audio from you.

This could mean the sound is original to what the camera picked up when you recorded the video.

It could also be you narrating over the video, or if you’re really fancy with it, it could be something you pre-recorded…

…and then uploaded as your own audio file.

Now the other part of this was to make an educational TikTok, using the original audio. 

So this can look different from business to business depending on who your target audience is and the nature of your brand and tone. 

In general, you want your TikTok to provide value to your customers. 

Here’s an example of an educational TikTok we made using original audio.

As you know our target audience is small business owners…

…so verifying your Facebook business page is something a lot of business owners would like to know how to do. 

So that TikTok provided relevant information to our target market, and we just talked in front of the camera to convey this information. 

Now we’ve also made animated TikToks in Canva.

This is something we showed you in our how to make Facebook Reels in Canva, where we narrate how to use TikTok’s native tools. 

Here’s an example of one of those.

Now we have fancy backgrounds and editing on our TikToks…

…because we repurpose snippets from our YouTube videos to create our TikToks (work smarter not harder).

But, your videos absolutely do not need professional editing by any means to be successful on TikTok.

You can just grab your smartphone and record away.

So that’s TikTok idea #1 to create a video about something your audience cares about and just use your own original audio.

2. Create a video using a trending audio.

So the next TikTok ideas for business means you’re not using your original audio. You’re using a sound that already exists on the platform. 

This could again be a song from TikTok’s music library or someone else’s original audio. 

Now what happens on TikTok is certain audios and sounds go viral, and people start mimicking what made the sound go viral in the first place.

So let us show you an example of what we mean. 

The song “How Bizarre” by OMC went viral a while back, and we’re going to play you the TikTok we made using it in a second.

But essentially the chorus says, “How Bizarre, How Bizarre, How Bizarre.”

So what people were doing was setting up a scenario specific to them or their business.

And then when it got to the chorus, saying “How Bizarre” along with the audio, to fit with whatever scenario they had just set up.

Here was our version of the trend. 

One of our team members portrayed a client saying how surprised they were that their lookalike audience worked so well to drive sales for them. 

Then it cuts to her as a digital marketer sarcastically saying, “How Bizarre”…

…because she had already been telling them to use a lookalike audience for months. 

So it’s sort of a funny TikTok that’s entertaining yet also delivers valuable information to small business owners…

…who didn’t know they needed to be using lookalike audiences at the time. 

Let’s look at another funny way you could utilize this song.

Let’s say for example you own a pet store. 

You could have a husband coming in, looking confused with a text on the screen saying, “I just found a bag of puppy food in the garage.”

And then cut to his spouse secretly holding a puppy in her jacket saying, “How Bizarre!” Then the husband knowingly says, “How Bizarre.” 

And then the wife smiling, letting her puppy out of the jacket, says the last “How Bizarre” of the chorus.

This would work for a pet store because it is related to and promotes something they sell, like puppies or pet food, but in a funny and entertaining way.

It’s also a funny scenario that’s probably relatable to a lot of couples and families…

…where there’s often one person who is always wanting to sneak in more pets.

So using trending audios, more often than not, results in you creating these little TikTok skits.

Let’s look at another example with another audio. 

There was another trend that went around with a cover of the song Sure Thing.

This is where the trend was to act like you’re trying to be okay but you’re really not or breaking down.

Here was our version.

And for good measure, here was another TikTok user’s version from the point of view of being a mom.

We really like these types of TikTok ideas for business owners because they’re really easy to make.

They require little to no editing on your part, and usually perform really well in terms of views and engagement. 

They allow your brand to be a little more lighthearted and not so serious in tone.

While at the same time allowing you to tap into trends that can skyrocket your reach and brand awareness. 

The best way to take advantage of these trends is to just be on TikTok yourself.

This is so that you can keep a pulse on common trends you see in your own feed that your business can then recreate…

…in a way that’s relevant to what you offer and your audience.

3. Do a dance trend.

Moving on to the next TikTok ideas for business, now, depending on your ability to keep rhythm, this might be the most intimidating TikTok idea of them all! 

But don’t worry, you don’t have to do TikTok dances in order to be successful on the platform. 

But if you or anyone on your team is comfortable doing these choreographed TikTok dances…

…we know they’d be a great way to get some attention on your profile and brand because, at the end of the day, it’s still TikTok.

Brands are lightening up and having fun with these trends and are getting good exposure as a result.

The song “Let’s Groove Tonight” by Earth Wind and Fire has been trending for a while with this dance.

So this is just one example of how certain songs will go viral with a choreographed dance routine.

And everybody uploads videos of themselves doing the dance to that specific song.

As another example, this guy is super famous for getting drone footage of himself dancing to the song “Stay” by Justin Bieber and The Kid LAROI. 

Like this video alone got over 44 million views.

So if anyone from your company can dance or at least remember a quick little routine from TikTok…

4. Do a challenge.

Now some people loop the TikTok dances we just talked about into this like a “dance challenge”.

But in our opinion, this category encompasses a lot more than just dancing. 

An example of these TikTok ideas for business is sometimes, songs will be mashed up with quotes from a movie or TV show…

…and we find that those are often sort of turned into challenges. 

Someone made a mashup of Tom Hanks saying the line from Forrest Gump, “Mama said they’d take me anywhere, she said they was my magic shoes.”

Then from there, it cuts to an upbeat song from Passion Pit. 

And the trend people are doing with this song is showing everywhere cool they’ve been in those shoes. 

Now how great would it be for a shoe company to take advantage of this trend on TikTok!

And these are just two trends out of like a bajillion on TikTok.

So if you’re a business owner, we would just keep your eye out for any that you could spin to be relevant to your company and audience. 

5. Make an educational TikTok with a trending song.

If you’ve read some of our other TikTok posts before on this blog…

…then you know sounds and audio are more important than hashtags or anything else when it comes to getting views and reach on this platform. 

So the next one on our list of TikTok ideas for business, even if you’re not using a song or trending audio to do a TikTok challenge, dance, or anything…

…you still want to use the song solely to get the reach if nothing else. 

Let’s look at an example. 

On this animated TikTok we narrated, you can see that the sound is a remix of the song “Save Your Tears” by The Weeknd and Ariana Grande.

But we have the song audio turned all the way down, so you don’t actually hear it when you play the TikTok.

So why do we even have it on there?

Because having it will allow our TikTok to appear in the search results if someone clicks on the song. 

Clicking on the song or audio shows you all the TikToks that have used that audio.

So adding trending audio or song to your TikToks even if it’s not integral to the meaning of your video will help you get those extra views. 

6. A get-to-know-you and/or routine TikTok. 

So starting with the get-to-know-you TikTok, this could be an original audio of you in front of the camera talking about:

  • who you are,
  • what your company is, and
  • why you do what you do or who you do it for. 

Or you could do what we did and use trending audio to introduce the team.

There was a trend of old 80s and 90s show theme songs going around…

…where the point was to wave at the camera super cheesy like they used to in the intro of those shows. 

So we took that trend and used it to introduce our team. Here’s what it looked like.

Another example is like this one, we won a big award for the third year in a row and wanted to give ourselves a shameless pat on the back.

So we made a TikTok about it, and in doing so it simultaneously gives viewers a little more insight into our world and the kind of work we do.

Now we put routines in the same category because these can kind of go hand in hand. 

Sharing your daily routine is really popular on TikTok.

And if you share yours as a small business owner, it can simultaneously help viewers get to know you better as well.

This is one routine example where the audio was just someone saying the days of the week.

And the trend that emerged was people showing their outfit of the day each day.

Now you could do these TikTok ideas for business with anything like showing off your different products each day of the week for example. 

But if you own a retail store? You need to do that trend by showing off outfits made from your products.
