Steps On How To Sell On Facebook Marketplace Using Desktop

Step 1: Starting with desktop, on Facebook.com, you can click to Marketplace on the left.

Or if you click the menu icon, you can type in Marketplace to find it quickly, or you can simply type in the URL Facebook.com/Marketplace. 

So this is an overview of what Facebook Marketplace looks like.

Step 2: You can scroll down to the left to search for items by certain categories.

You can filter if you want to view things within a certain mile radius of your location or if you want to view items that have the availability to ship.

Step 3: To sell something of your own, click “Create new listing”.

Select your listing type, item, vehicle, or home, and then from there, you can fill out all of the listing prompts. 

Some are required and some are optional, but you’ll go down and fill in information like:

• photos of what you’re selling,
• a title,
• a description,
• category specifics,

…and so on. 

Step 4: As you fill things out, your preview of the listing will update on the right in real-time so you can see what everything looks like.

And we would recommend out of everything here being intentional with your photos, listing title, and description. 

That’s because those are the 3 things that are going to get the most initial attention from buyers.

And, it will also help your listing get found by using relevant keywords. 

Step 5: Once you click to the Next screen, you can choose the delivery method whether you want it to be local within your area or if you want to offer shipping.

This is so that you can sell nationwide and not be limited to buyers in your area. 

Step 6: And on the last screen, you can review everything one more time.

Choose whether you want to publish the listing into any specific groups outside of just Marketplace.

Step 7: And once you have everything the way you want it, you can hit the blue Publish button.

Selling On Marketplace Using Mobile

On mobile, click the hamburger icon, click Marketplace and you can either click your profile icon at the top and click “Create new listing”.

Or tap “Selling” and then click the blue “Create new listing” button.

And you can follow all of the same prompts from there.

So this is talking about running Facebook ads using the placement of Marketplace, which is different from posting a listing on Marketplace.

Now, note that this feature is not available to everyone, Facebook says it is “limited to eligible sellers who have a shop with checkout.”
