1. Charts

1. Charts

If you have specific data that you want to make a visual representation for, you can manually create charts using Canva’s library of:

• shapes,
• lines, and
• other elements.

But aside from that, Canva does have a collection of charts and graphs that you can use to input your data into. 

You can add charts to:

• infographics,
• presentations,
• social media images,

…and virtually any design you want that needs to display numerical information in a visual format.

2. Video editing

The next item on our list of lesser known Canva features has something to do with videos.

Canva just upped their video processing game by improving their video editing interface.

You can now add multiple audio files to your video and split video clips…

…to control exactly when and which element of the video should transition, and other effects you want to happen in your composition.

Having this available along with Canva’s massive library of elements makes making videos easy and much more streamlined.

Unlike other video editing applications, Canva has all the elements you’ll need to create a decent video from start to finish.

That is without having to pre-design vector graphics, crop images, and the like on other applications because you can do all of these in Canva as well. 

3. Make or Edit PDFs

You can export your Canva designs as PDFs.

Or, if you have any existing PDF files you want to update and upgrade with relevant visual elements…

…you can import your file and edit it directly in Canva.

Thus, giving you the option of using any element or image available on the website to edit your document.

4.  Live collaboration

This is probably one of the lesser known Canva features that can be useful for teams.

Say you’re working with your colleagues on a specific design and you want to work on it together live.

Simply give them the link to the design, and they’ll have the exact same design canvas as yours open on their browser.

Just be sure you’re using the same team account/or log in credentials.

5. Presentations

Last on our list of lesser known Canva features are presentations.

Did you know that aside from designing them, you can do interactive presentations in Canva? 

Well you can, and Canva has a bunch of multiple-page presentation templates to choose from.

After that, you can then edit and customize further before doing your presentation via Zoom. 

Once you’re ready, click on the Present button.

You can then click on the Live button and the “Start a new session” button.

This will then generate a unique code for your audience to type in when they go to canva.live using a computer tablet or phone browser.

They can use their device to type in comments or questions for you, which you, as well as your viewers, can see live on screen.
