So for the first part of this tutorial, we’re going to be fixing blurry images in Photoshop.
A short disclaimer before we proceed, the effectiveness of this fix will depend on the severity of the blur in your photo.
But, it should help with images that need a little help in fixing like a bit of motion blur or are a little bit out of focus.
This is for photos that don’t have faces in them.
Because in the second part of this tutorial, we’re going to show you an app that uses AI to fix almost any photos with out-of-focus or blurry faces.
Steps On How To Fix Blurry Photos Using Photoshop
Step 1: So we have a blurry product image open in Photoshop.
As you can see, we don’t have a solid definition on the edges and we’re going to fix that artificially.
Step 2: Let’s start by duplicating the layer by hitting command j or control j on your keyboard.
Step 3: Select the topmost layer and click on the Filter button, select “Other”, and then click on “High Pass”.
Now, adjust it so that it outlines the edges of your image without the colors showing through much.
Step 4: Hit Ok, click this button, and select Overlay.
Now merge layers, click Filter again, and this time click on Shake reduction.
Photoshop reads your image and sets it up with an automatic setting for this so you can just leave everything as is and hit Ok.
Step 5: Then finally, click Filter once more, click on Sharpen, and then “Smart Sharpen”.
After that, adjust the radius to get a sharper final output.
Now if we load our original image, you can see that we’ve reduced the blur and have a sharper-looking image.
And now, moving on to images with faces.
How To Enhance Images’ Resolution Using ReMini
So there’s this mind-blowing app that uses AI to enhance images with faces, and it’s called the ReMini app.
It’s available for both Apple and Android devices, and all you need to do is install it.
Once it’s installed on your device, you can go ahead and upload your photo.
If you’re using the free version, you do have to watch an ad twice – once to process your image and once more to save it.
But if you do want to skip the ads, you can also get the paid version.
But one thing is for sure with this app, the results are insane.
It does an amazing job using its artificial intelligence to reconstruct and add the details of blurred-out faces.
And you’ll get impressive results almost all of the time!
Unfortunately, ReMini doesn’t work for images that don’t have faces so we’ll have to stick to our traditional Photoshop method for photos of objects.
